Christmas Card Photo Shoot

A few weekends ago, we took family pictures for our Christmas card this year.  I took my camera along to take a few pics of the boys too.  The location was a great place for boys.  They played and climbed and ran and rolled.  Awesome place for pictures.  We will definitely go back again.  Enjoy these pictures of our beautiful boys!

Christmastime is Here!

And we started spreading the cheer this week.  The boys’ school participated in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child this year so we decorated and filled 3 shoe boxes for the boys to contribute to the cause.  They really put a lot of thought and time into their boxes, and had so much fun painting their own Christmas wrapping paper.  Ma and I assisted them as they worked on their masterpieces, and Pa served as the official photographer.

Jeff and I spent some time with the boys talking about how blessed our family is to celebrate Christmas, and we explained this project was one way to share our blessings with others.  The boys are really beginning to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and are understanding the Gift God gave us on that first Christmas morning.  And they were so excited to pass the gift of God’s love along to 3 other boys from another part of the world.  I am so thankful we had this opportunity to teach the boys about the most important reason for this season, and also for the leadership in the school they attend for taking a stand to give other families the very same opportunity.  We truly are blessed!

7 Months, Last Month

I am extremely far behind on blogging, I know.  I didn’t even give an update on our little man, Levi.  So here’s a quick update of what he started doing last month.  He says “Mama” and “Dada” and laughs and squeals whenever he’s happy, which is most of the time.  He watches his brothers when they’re at home, and misses them when they’re at school.  He drinks his juice from a sippy cup like a big boy now.  Levi hasn’t started crawling, but he finds his way around by rolling and bending his back and pushing off with his feet (see picture below of how he arches his back).  He reaches for everything in sight, and throws a little fit if something is taken away.  Oh yes, he’s developing an attitude!

His day pretty much consists of sleeping, playing, and eating.  He wakes up and eats breakfast at 7:00.  He then sits in the middle of the floor and plays for about an hour.  Then it’s time to take a little nap, and then play some more.  He gets ready for lunch at noon, and another nap time.  After playing some more, he takes a final nap at about 4:00 and eats supper at 6:00.  He usually gets a bath and is ready for bed by 8:00.  Once he falls asleep, he sleeps again until the next morning.  This is not a schedule we set, but one he pretty much fell into by himself.  It surely works for us!

Well that pretty much wraps up Levi’s 7 month develpments.  Here are a few pics I took at home and at the ball park one day.  Soon I’ll have his 8 month pictures up.  Until then, enjoy!

Trick or Treat

Our family doesn’t usually do Halloween, but we broke down and let the boys dress up and trick-or-treat this year.  Halloween week was “Red Ribbon” week (don’t do drugs awareness week), and each day their school had the kids dress up a certain way.

  • Monday:  Patriotic day (they wore red, white, and blue)
  • Tuesday:  Tie day
  • Wednesday:  Crazy hair day
  • Thursday:  Backwards clothes day
  • Friday:  Costume day

They were so excited to wear costumes and go around the block collecting candy.  Here are some fun pics of the boys and their fellow trick-or-treaters.

End of Baseball Season

Jonathan’s season ended with a close game, but disappointing loss.  His team fought hard, but didn’t quite make it to the championship round a couple of weekends ago.  Jonathan played some awesome games, and came within a foot of hitting a homerun over the left-field fence.  I know I sound like a typical baseball mom, but had the wind not been blowing into the direction the ball was heading, it would have gone over; and Dad would’ve been jumping in the pond to retrieve it!  We’re extremely proud of him and the progress he’s made this year.  We’re also glad to get a little break before we start again next March!

Until then, enjoy these pics.
