I was just browsing through my pics on my camera and found these of Caleb’s birthday that I forgot to post. We went to eat at a Mexican restaurant with the family and a couple of Jonathan’s friends. The servers brought out a sombrero and a big plate of dessert, and smashed Caleb’s face with whipped cream after singing a birthday song. He felt so honored! And Levi was eyeing a cute little girl in the high-chair behind him…we have to watch him, the little mac daddy!

Last month was full of birthdays, cupcakes, parties, and gifts as the boys celebrated their 9th, 7th, and 6th birthdays. Of course, they were so excited on their special days…here’s a quick run-down of all the fun we had…
Jonathan wanted a sleepover again this year, so we grilled hot dogs and let them play outside with sprinklers and water slides.

Caleb woke up on his big day to our traditional birthday pancake breakfast. He wanted one in the shape of a puppy, so I did the best I could. He got to unwrap a few presents and then went shopping for a present with Ma and Pa. And Ma made him a yummy chocolate cake!

Caleb and Aaron had a party together at Chuck-E-Cheese since they share the same friends. Great fun was had by all, including grown-ups. The best thing was, no clean up!

And finally, after the long wait, Aaron turned 7. Like always, we had birthday pancakes and unwrapped gifts. Then he got to go on a birthday shopping spree with Ma and Pa. That night, we went to McAlister’s Deli for his baseball party.

Now, until next year . . .

Levi didn’t let a bad case of strep throat ruin his fun during Spring Break in Louisiana. With his birthday just a week before, we celebrated with more parties at Mama Nance and Daddy Wayne’s house and at the park. He unwrapped even more presents and ate a lot more cake. By the time that last party rolled around, Levi knew the drill and tore into his cake! For the other boys, Aunt Dana planned a fun game of Hot Potato and a really exciting relay race that ended with a Diet Coke explosion. Here are the last pictures of Levi’s first birthday. This boy knows how to party.

Dear Levi,
Today is a very special day! This morning you woke up with one full year behind you. I cannot believe how fast you have grown, and I am so thankful for all the precious moments we have shared together this past year. I am positively certain that this next year and many more years in your life hold many, many more exciting and fun adventures that we will forever cherish and remember.
The day you were born changed our lives, mine, Daddy’s, and your three brothers. To be honest, just the thought of adding a new baby to our already crazy lives completely rocked our world. I remember thinking about how you would fit into that world. Would I be able to provide you with as much love as I had for your big brothers? That day, and the next few weeks, I was more nervous than I had ever been in my entire life. Changing your diaper, feeding you, taking you anywhere by myself; it all overwhelmed me. Not because you made anything difficult. Far from that. You were absolutely the most perfect baby any mom and dad could ask for. Just quite some time had passed since I had taken care of a newborn, and I so wanted to do everything perfectly for you.
Now, as I reflect on your first year, it fills me with such joy and gladness. I think about your first coos and smiles and giggles. Then your first “mama” and “dada”. And watching you roll over for the first time, and then rolling around all over the living room. Those rolls soon progressed to backbending until you learned how to scoot across the floor backwards; and now you can get places pretty fast crawling. I can still hear the sweet sound of your laughs when your big brothers made funny faces at you. Of course, you learned to make funny faces yourself, scrunching your nose and sticking out your tongue. And, I could never forget how cute you are when you cover your face to play peek-a-boo! Oh, you are always cute no matter what you do!
Today, I wonder what these next few years have in store for you. You’ve already taken a few steps, but soon you’ll be walking all the time, and then running faster than I can. You’ll be talking our ears off before we know it, and I’m sure you’ll keep us laughing all the time. You already do! I look forward with great anticipation the first time you wrap your arms around my neck, give me a big squeeze and sloppy kiss on the cheek, and say the words “I love you, Mama!” The great amount of flowers you will pick and masterpieces that will be created by your little hands for me give me great excitement. And also, as you grow into a little boy, I will be your greatest fan as I watch you hit your first ball off a tee and run around the bases on the baseball field. I am positive the day you bounce out of the car your first day of school, tears will well up in my eyes; but I will be so happy for you!
I can’t even imagine what else our Father has for your future, but I promise He has a wonderful plan and purpose for your life. I am most excited to watch as you grow in a close personal relationship with Him and fulfill that purpose. I pray that you will listen closely to Him and join Him to do great and mighty things for His Kingdom.
Just know, Levi, that your Daddy and I love you so much and you are extremely special to us. At one time, we wondered what life would be like with you, our new baby. And now, we can’t imagine what life would be without you, our precious son. We love you so much, little guy! Happy Birthday!
Love you bigger than the world, Mama
To all our blog-followers:
I know it’s a little sappy, but these are my feelings as we celebrate Levi’s 1st birthday. I feel it’s kinda a bittersweet moment. On one hand, I love watching Levi grow up; but on the other, he’s my last baby! I thought I would share a few pictures of him from throughout this past year. Enjoy!

Batman’s Birthday
July 5, 2008 · Filed under Aaron, Birthdays, Kacey's Stories
Meet our little Batman. These are pictures of him on his 6th birthday last week. We didn’t have our birthday pancakes because the boys had been invited to a sleepover the night before. When they finally got home the next day, Aaron was so excited when he opened this present from us. He exclaimed, “How did you know this is just what I wanted??!!” He’s so sweet and always appreciative of the little things.
We cannot get over the fact that Aaron starts first grade in just a month and a half! He’s growing so fast and learning so much. He tries to read everything. . . signs, billboards, commercials on TV. And of course, he’s still my precious little helper, and a sweet big brother to Levi. We love you so much Aaron! Happy Birthday!

Last week, we threw a pirate birthday bash for Aaron and Caleb. We loaded up the cupcakes and ice cream, and headed to the park. Their friends showed up and all the kiddos had fun playing. After the boys blew out the candles, they all scarfed down their food and Aaron and Caleb opened all their presents. Everyone had a good time, and no one was ready to leave. Here are some pics of the fun we had.
Happy Belated Birthday!

On June 10, Caleb celebrated his 5th birthday while we were at Ma & Pa’s. We, of course, ate birthday pancakes, and then he opened his present from Jeff and me: HOT WHEELS Track Attack. He didn’t get to enjoy it for long because we loaded up soon afterward and hit the road home.
Anyway, it doesn’t seem like it’s been 5 years since the day he was born. Oh, how we’ve enjoyed his charisma and charm. I couldn’t even begin to count the many smiles he’s caused to cross my face or the many times he’s made us all laugh with a quirky comment. And it still warms my soul everyday to hear him say “You’re pretty, Mama! I love you!” So, I wish him the very best this next year of the long road ahead of him. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him!
Just Chillin’ @ Ma & Pa’s

We stayed at Ma and Pa’s house for the weekend and the boys enjoyed just hanging out! They played games, colored, shot the BB gun, and played with T-Bone and Dip.
Ma and Pa gave the boys their birthday present while we were down there, and had Jonathan’s 20Q game guess what it was. Afterwards, they searched outside for it and found the trampoline boxes hiding in the back of Pa’s truck. They were excited about the gift, but disappointed when we couldn’t fit it in our truck to bring home. Pa said they would have to deliver it in a few weeks!
Poolside Party

Since we were in town last weekend with family, Mama Nance and Daddy Wayne decided they would throw the boys a birthday party. They cooked their favorite, cheeseburgers, and the boys swam like they were little fish. Pa got in, gave Aaron and Caleb a little swimming lesson, and off they all went. They can all 3 swim without floaties. I was slightly nervous and almost jumped in, clothes and all, several times; but they managed without me!
For their birthday, they each received a duffel bag and school keepsake book; and together they got a cool telescope. Jeff and Pa stayed up a couple of nights until 3:00 am trying catch glimpses of stars and planets!!
Anyway…thanks for everything. Here are some pictures.
