Long time since our last post, and a lot has happened since then. Back in August, Mama Nance, Daddy Wayne, and Ashley came in for a quick visit. We enjoyed visiting and the chance to go to the zoo. These are a few pics…

Yesterday was a great day of celebration, worship, and fellowship with fantastic friends and family. We spent the day visiting, cooking and grilling, making and eating home-made ice cream, and watching the kids play ’til they dropped. Dana, my kid-at-heart little sis, entertained the kids with face-painting. Once we had enough of the heat, we came inside and enjoyed a time of worship, sharing, and prayer. Finally, we ended our night by going to the Southaven fireworks show at Snowden. We “oohed” and “aahed”, and laughed at Levi who laid back and stared in awe at the lit up sky.

The boys were excited when we arrived home from the cruise bearing gifts. They liked their t-shirts and seashell necklaces, but they really loved the model pirate ship from Key West. They couldn’t wait to start building their new boat. So Jeff and the boys emptied the box on the table and got to some serious ship construction.

We said we wouldn’t do it again the last time we got rained out, but one of our friends talked us into trying it one more time . . . tent camping. This time, we loaded up our truck, Pa’s truck, and the Taylor van with way too much food and boxes of camping supplies, and drove across the great state of Mississippi to Piney Grove Campground, where we pitched our tents, fired up the grill, and baited the kids’ fishing rods. After a fun day of fishing, playing cards, devouring some smoked chicken and veggies, roasting marshmallows to make S’mores, and visiting around the campfire, we finally laid our heads to rest in our tents under a clear starry sky. We woke the next morning only to find a cloudy sky which promised to bring us showers later in the day; however, it held off for the biggest part of the day, allowing time to meet our neighbors, play more games, hang out at the playground, and fish some more. Just in time for supper, the inevitable happened. . . the bottom fell out and down came the rain. Thankfully, we had already packed up the majority of our camping gear and tents, and just had to scarf down our burgers and load up the food. We were also thankful for the cabin Ma and Pa had reserved, where we ended up crashing for the night . . . all 11 of us! Since we were a little more prepared this time, we didn’t get miserably wet like our last camping adventure. Still, I think this put the icing on the cake. No more tent camping for us. Anyone know of a good camper for sale?
First things first . . . we had to have our own makeshift bathroom in case we needed to take care of business in the middle of the night. Thanks Austin for taking care of us gals! I’m really glad I never had to utilize this facility.

Levi had fun in his mini-Moonbounce. It kept him contained . . .
. . . for a while.

He liked sitting in Bailey’s little chair, too.

And, of course, Ma’s lap was pretty comfy!

All the kids had fun fishing. We were glad our campsite was right on the lake.

Aaron’s was the first catch of the day.

Then Caleb reeled one in.

Bailey caught lots of little purple fish.

And she even caught a real one!

The boys fished . . .

. . . and fished . . .

. . . and fished . . .

. . . and Jonathan started getting frustrated . . .

. . . until he finally got one!

And then a few more! He wore himself out and had to relax.

Camping wouldn’t be fun without a campfire, marshmallow roasting, . . .
and S’mores!

Yesterday was the first day of Spring Break and we celebrated by going to the bowling alley. The boys had a blast, and we did too. The big winners of the day were Jonathan and me, both with big scores of 104! We just might be pros one day. Of course, the kids bowled with bumpers; and Daddy, Ma, and Pa probably could have used them too! Enjoy the pics!

A few weeks ago, we had beautiful weather, the kind where you can’t help but spend the day outside. So we all decided we needed to go to the park. We loaded up the stroller with Levi, his stuff, a frisbee, and a football; and walked and rode scooters and bicycles in a caravan to the park to play. We had the whole gang in tow, including Aunt Dana, Ma, and Pa, and even a few of the neighborhood kids. The kids played, Levi swung, and we even got a few games of football and frisbee going with other park-goers.
Enjoy the pics!

Much to the boys’ excitement, we got a little snow here last month. Not much, but enough to build a mini-Snowman, and have a quick snowball fight, and, more importantly, to close the schools for a day. Jonathan, poor thing, was grounded; so he missed out on the fun. Maybe he learned his lesson. So, here we are in the sea of white.

Last month, we got tired of the weather keeping us cooped up in the house; so we planned a day trip to Memphis with our friends, Austin, Alesha, and Bailey. We ate and played at Incredible Pizza, which is like “Chuck E. Cheese on steroids” to put it in Austin’s words. After playing and picking out a few cheap little prizes, we took Bailey and the boys to Build-a-Bear Workshop to spend their gift cards. Since Jonathan had previously built his own dog, he just picked out a new Cardinals baseball uniform for “Dipster”, complete with cute little red cleats. Aaron built a bear named “Bub” and dressed him like Batman, while Caleb built a tiger named “Mike the LSU Tiger” and dressed him like Spiderman. Bailey wanted a pink monkey, and named her “Giselle” after the princess from “Enchanted.” Exhausted and thirsty, we completed our busy day at Sonic and then headed home. We all had a great time spending the day together. We hope you enjoy the pictures!
