Just a few pics of a couple of nights out with the fam. A few weeks ago, a friend offered to keep the boys so the grown-ups could have a night out. We dressed up and went to eat @ a seafood buffet in Tunica. Great fun!

Fun for the Boys . . . and the Girls

Our Spring Break trip back home to Louisiana was extremely busy, as usual. Of course, we had birthday parties for Levi (see this post); but we also had other exciting plans in the midst of them.
The guys took off in the woods with Pepaw’s Jeep, a four-wheeler, and a dirt bike; and somehow managed to get the Jeep stuck in a big mudhole.
Even Levi took his first ride on a four-wheeler with his Daddy.

Dana, Ma, Aunt Cathy, Mammaw, and I joined some other ladies for an afternoon of Pokino-playing. Lots of food, prizes, and laughs!
One night, Jeff and I left the boys with Nana & Pepaw (thanks!) and met Dana and her date for the evening, Ma, Mammaw, and my cousins Jessica and Katie, for a night of karaoke at a local restaurant. Good food, but even better entertainment!

Shoe Store Buddy & Other Levi Stories

Levi is growing up, walking and babbling, and keeping us smiling! Here are a few sweet pictures of our baby boy.
Jeff, Levi, and I were shoe-shopping the other day, and Levi was excited to meet a new friend! Check out the picture below . . .

Notice how much his new pal looks just like him. No wonder Levi likes him so much. They enjoyed an occasional game of “peek-a-boo”, but mostly just grinned at each other.
Here he is not quite so thrilled to take a ride through the car wash. As he watched out the window, he screamed and cried. Just look at that pitiful face.
A trip to Wal-Mart with Ma and Mammaw Mary wore Levi completely out. We fixed him up a bed with towels and washcloths in the front of the buggy.
And here he is enjoying the pretty Spring blooms in our flowerbeds. He tried to pick a few, but then the bees scared him.
Still There?

Nighty Night and Goodbye!

We’re off to visit family in Minden. I just wanted to empty my camera card so I’d be ready to snap more pictures. There were only a few, so enjoy!
Levi has learned how to navigate to the kitchen and open up the cabinets. We just bought some gates to keep him out, but here are a few pictures of his last exploration in the cabinet.
Last night, Levi slept on the floor for a little while, while Jeff and Ipacked for the week. When we finished, I went to put Levi in his bed, and this is what I found when I walked into the living room: Levi and Pa sleeping peacefully beside each other. Unbeknownst to Pa, I took a pic!

We’ll be back next week with more pictures and stories! Stay tuned.

Boys & Girls

It just recently hit me how different God makes boys and girls. As I was scanning some pictures of current happenings at our house, I came across these of the boys and some of my “borrowed daughter”, Bailey. My boys are the average, stinking, rough, fighting, wrestling, outdoorsy type kiddos. They would live outside if given that option. They love climbing trees, going on nature hikes, camping, fishing, running around barefoot, doing tricks on their bikes, and. . .you get the idea. Although I’m not quite a tomboy, I love the fun these guys are always having!
On the other hand, I love it when our friends share their sweet 2 year old daughter with me! Bailey came over last week and hung out with me for a few hours. She treats Levi like one of her baby dolls, and was thrilled to help feed him. She grinned really big and said, “Miss Kacey, take a picture of me!” She has fun with the boys, but doesn’t always participate in their outdoor activities. She’s not too keen on getting dirty or playing rough. She would rather them color with her, or put puzzles together with her. The boys have usually been so good to her, and Bailey calls them her “sisters.”
I guess what I’m getting at is God gave me four boys, and I love these boys. But God also provided a little girl when I feel outnumbered and need that “sugar and spice and everything nice.” Just praising God for all these precious kiddos!

I finally had to retire the ol’ playmat, and replaced it with a slightly larger blanket for Levi’s playing area. Even the blanket doesn’t contain his little booty! He rolls all over the living room, smiling and laughing as he makes his way around.
Today, I walked in our living room to find one of the sweetest sights I’ve ever seen. Aaron and Levi were laying side by side; and Aaron was reading Fox in Socks aloud to his baby brother. Levi loves to be read to, and Aaron loves discovering books he can read all by himself. So together, they were enjoying the story!
Of course, I ran to grab the camera. I couldn’t miss this opportunity for the world!
