4th of July Fun

Yesterday was a great day of celebration, worship, and fellowship with fantastic friends and family. We spent the day visiting, cooking and grilling, making and eating home-made ice cream, and watching the kids play ’til they dropped. Dana, my kid-at-heart little sis, entertained the kids with face-painting. Once we had enough of the heat, we came inside and enjoyed a time of worship, sharing, and prayer. Finally, we ended our night by going to the Southaven fireworks show at Snowden. We “oohed” and “aahed”, and laughed at Levi who laid back and stared in awe at the lit up sky.

Fun in the Sun

Levi loves being outside. Anytime we put his shoes on, he heads straight to the door, pointing his little finger outside. These are some pics taken the other day in the water . . . so fun to be 1!

Top Models??!!

Here are my beautiful sister, Dana, and gorgeous cousin, Katie, working the camera.  They may be silly, but they sure know how to strike a pose…

Of course, the real models, ”Desiree” and “Candy,” had to show them how it’s really done.  Their names have been changed, per their request, to protect them from stalkers and unsolicited phone calls. : )

Love all you guys!!  You sure know how to give us all a good laugh!

Splishin’ and Splashin’

The boys have been having lots of fun in the sun; but, of course, nothing beats a day at the pool.  Here’s everybody swimming and jumping and chilling out at the DAC.  Jonathan, Aaron, and Caleb were having a blast; but, as you can see, Levi wasn’t a big fan of the heat, nor the cold water!  But at least he looks adorable in his stylin’ surfer dude swimsuit!

Gearin’ Up for Summer

When it hasn’t been raining around here, we’ve had some beautiful weather.  Of course, the boys have practically lived outside on these lovely spring days, along with their friend, Jared, our neighbor.  Here are a few of the activities they have enjoyed these past few weeks.

Jared’s family bought a water slide, and decided it would be fun to put up for all the boys to play on.  It was still a little cool outside, but that didn’t stop them from getting wet and shivery!

Aaron is still loving to ride his bike.  He was so excited when we found him some pads and a helmet.  He wanted me to take some pics of him sporting our find.

What boy doesn’t love to climb trees or dig in the dirt?  The boys have always loved getting dirty, but they just discovered this new-found love of tree-climbing.

Pool Party

Jonathan’s end of the season party was last month also. To celebrate and beat the heat, we had a pool party. The kids were able to swim for only a short time before it started storming. We had a great time anyway visiting while chowing down on pizza, receiving trophies, and eating cake and ice cream. Here are the pics!

A Blast from the Past

Wow! It’s been quite a busy summer, and I have totally failed to keep this blog up-to-date. I apologize for the long delay. Early in July, some of our friends, Adam and Jaynee Burke and their 3 kiddos, came for a quick visit. While here, Aaron and his best buddy, Lucas, became reacquainted with one another as they played non-stop. Jonathan and Caleb joined in on the fun too; and Lucas’ sisters, Rileigh and Elainah, had a blast among all the boys! Some of the exciting activities included feeding the ducks, making creations with Play-Doh, and a trip to the zoo. We hope they’ll come back soon!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Last week, the boys experienced their first semi-pro baseball game. We loaded up and invited some friends to come along to the Autozone Park to watch the Memphis Redbirds play Round Rock Express. The Redbirds is the farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals. We sat on the first base line and almost had the chance to catch a few foul balls. Although we didn’t get to them fast enough, we didn’t come home empty handed. We all got some yummy soft serve ice cream in souvenir Redbirds baseball helmet bowls. The boys thought these were so cool! The Redbirds lost the game, but we had a fun time anyway! Here are some pictures of the action.

Summer Cookout

One of the many things we love to do is cook out with friends. Last weekend, Austin and Alesha invited us and another family over for hamburgers and hot dogs. We took the boys’ blow-up moonbounce and enjoyed an evening outdoors visiting, eating, and playing. Here are some cute pictures of everyone.
Jonathan and Aaron hanging out, playing with their new Transformers.
Bailey likes to show out and act silly on the moonbounce!
Caleb, Jonathan, and Kirsten bouncing and wrestling.
Some grown-ups like to visit; others choose to play with Transformers instead!
Bailey and the boys! They treat her like a little sister.

Memorial Day Zoo Trip

Spiderman visited the zoo for Memorial Day, so we had to go see what he had to say. The boys learned a lot about staying healthy and eating good foods from Spiderman. We also watched the birds and a new exhibit of butterflies. Here are some pictures!
